PRO-SPEC®  MULTI-VISCOSITY MOTOR OIL 5W/30 and 10W/30 provide premium performance and protection for the severe service, medium and light duty application found in passenger vehicles. This oil provides maximum protection and extended oil change intervals with laboratory analysis for all types of industries, including gasoline passenger vehicles found in construction, logging, farming, city transit and others.

PRO-SPEC®

Made With High Quality Base Stock

Texas Refinery Corp. combines the latest technological developments in base stock refining techniques with superior additives for outstanding performance abilities. The base stocks go through several refining steps . . . solvent extraction removes impurities from the oil. The oils are also hydrotreated, which improves the base oil's response to the high quality additives used by Texas Refinery Corp. The base stock oils are also dewaxed to improve their cold temperature performance capabilities.

The solvent extracted neutrals have a natural high viscosity index which gives the finished engine oil greater resistance to temperature are high, the oil has less tendency to thin out. When the engine temperatures are cold, the oil has less tendency to thicken. Because of the special refining techniques the base oils have minimum contribution to varnish, gum and sludge build-up.

PRO-SPEC®

For The Latest Gasoline Engines

Manufacturers have changed engine designs for emissions purposes and fuel economy, and lubricant manufacturers have adopted new procedures for testing purposes, which are more relevant to the modern-day needs of the original equipment manufacturers.

Texas Refinery Corp.'s PRO-SPEC® meets the latest gasoline engine specifications, both under the American Petroleum Institute's (API) standard and the International Lubricants Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC) standard. In fact, PRO-SPEC® is formulated to meet two new proposed categories. . . API's SL category and ILSAC's new GF-3 category.

PRO-SPEC®

Improved Performance Additives

PRO-SPEC's formulation provides improved performance in modern gasoline engines. Fuel economy benefits are improved, including fuel economy durability which is a demonstration of fuel economy throughout the oil drain interval period. Enhancements of the formulation with friction modifiers and a superior detergent selection will help achieve these fuel economy benefits.

PRO-SPEC® meets the proposed GF-3 category, which addresses the need for emissions system protection, improved high temperature deposit control and oil consumption, as well a the fuel economy benefits, Extensive testing has been done to ensure protection against sludge, varnish, corrosion, wear and oxidation.

PRO-SPEC®

Provides Winter & Summer Protection

PRO-SPEC® multi-viscosity motor oil for gasoline engines provides an easy start in the winter, plus extra protection in the summer.  The multi-viscosity capabilities allow the oils to flow quickly, resulting in quicker warm-ups. At the same time, the engine receives protection because it maintains its viscosity at higher temperatures. PRO-SPEC® is available in both 5W/30 and 10W/30 weights.

PRO-SPEC®

Contains Superior Additives

PRO-SPEC® MULTI-VISCOSITY MOTOR OIL contains several superior additives. One of these is the zinc anti-wear package. Texas Refinery Corp. uses two different types of high quality zinc anti-wear protection. One of the zinc compounds is activated by low temperatures. The other zinc compound is activated by higher temperatures.

Other additives contained in PRO-SPEC® MULTI-VISCOSITY MOTOR OIL inhibit rust, corrosion, oxidation and foaming. The oxidation inhibitor, in particular, has been beefed up. Texas Refinery Corp. is able to virtually eliminate sludging and, therefore, this oil helps allow longer drain intervals. The increased drain interval, with protection to the equipment, translates into very economical oil.

PRO-SPEC®

Has a High TBN Level

PRO-SPEC® MULTI-VISCOSITY MOTOR has a high Total Base Number of 15. This high TBN level indicates how well PRO-SPEC® fights acids and their corrosive effects. Many commercial lubricants on the market have a TBN level from only 6 to 10.

There are many different ways to boost the total base number of an oil. Texas Refinery Corp.'s PRO-SPEC® receives most of its alkalinty from the detergent value of the oil. Of course, this is the most expensive way to go and it is certainly the most effective as well. High detergency TBN additives are more effective at controlling the overall effects of increased soot loading of the oil. The high total base number end result is longer life and extended drain intervals with PRO-SPEC® MULTI-VISCOSITY MOTOR OIL.
